Welcome to Year 2!

Our teachers are Mrs Hewson and Miss Blake.

Our topic this half term is FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD!

We had lots of fun writing food reviews for cake today!

During our Art and DT lessons we have been planning and designing paper mache fruit pencil holders! It was great fun!! We also planned, made and drank fruit smoothies- they were delicious!! In Literacy we have been looking at an alternative 'Goldilocks an the three bears' story called 'Eat your greens'! We acted out some of the scenes and are building up to write our own version of the story.

On Friday, we were very lucky and got to each hold a chick! They were very soft and fluffy.

Our topic the first summer half term is Africa!!

Willy Wonka Day!

We looked at Vincent Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' painting. We drew the picture step by step then covered it with a paint wash. They looked great!!

On Thursday 3rd March 2016, it was World Book Day. We came to school dressed as our favourite character from a book, can you guess who we are?

We acted out scenes from Florence Nightingales time at the Scutari hospital!! Here she is looking after her soldiers.

We painted the famous 'Sunflower' painting by Vincent Van Gogh!!!

On Thursday we created our own potions, just like JK Rowling did! We had a flying potion, invisibility potion and many more!

This half term our topic is all about 'Famous People'!!! We will be looking at JK Rowling, Florence Nightingale, Grace Darling, Queen Victoria and our Queen Elizabeth.

On Tuesday 10 pirates joined our class! Do you like our creations?? 😀

MaryAnn made us a fantastic Pirate Ship cake!!!

We have been very busy learning lots of facts about pirates! Our topic board is getting very full 😊

Our topic this half term is Castles. On Monday we went to Carlisle Castle. We had lots of fun looking and learning all about our castle.
