Year 1&2

Welcome to year 1 and 2!

We have two teachers - Miss Huck and Mrs Hewson. Mrs Hewson teaches us all day Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Miss Huck teaches us Wednesday morning and all day Thursday and Friday. 

Our teaching assistants are Mrs Robson in the mornings, and Miss Cook and Mrs Robson in the afternoons. 

Pudding Lane 1666

We designed Tudor houses to recreate Pudding Lane in 1666. We enjoyed making them today

We were learning about suffixes today and we looked at ‘er’

We painted in the style of Wassily Kandinsky

We enjoyed making Dhol drums and playing them along to Indian music

Our new topic is about India. We have enjoyed looking at Rangoli patterns and Mendi patterns. Here’s our finished work!

Today in RE we looked at how Muslims are called to prayer and designed our own towers to play the call to prayer from.

I’m a Pirate

We loved looking at the Caribbean where the pirates sailed around and then eating fruits from the Caribbean🥭🍌

The year 2 children have been working on their multiplication skills, we really enjoyed writing on our tables!

We loved making treasure maps!

During topic time we are learning about pirates. We drew pictures using charcoal and pencils to create Blackbeard the famous pirate!

Happy New Year! Our new English topic is about Florence Nightingale. What a great way to start our topic off with a visit from Nurse Siân 👩‍⚕️

We are enjoying our Christmas lunch.

We followed instructions to make Superhero Cuffs!

We made Toy Story cup and stick puppets!

We investigated dinosaur poo to find out if the dinosaurs were herbivores, omnivores or carnivores!

We enjoyed making and trying out shadow puppets of dinosaurs today as part of our Toy Story topic work.

We acted out scenes from our new story in English!
