At Burgh by Sands School we encourage children to explore a wide range of media and materials through which they will develop the skills and knowledge to develop them further as artists. This starts in our EYFS unit where children are provided with opportunities to play with colour, texture and design. As the children progress through the school these opportunities are developed further. As artists the children will be inspired to invent and create their own works of art, craft and design using a wide variety of materials and techniques. Children will also evaluate the work of famous artists and designers and will develop an understanding of the significance and importance of art in the culture and history of our society.
