Years 3&4

Welcome to our class page!

Our teacher is Miss Blake and our teaching assistants are Mrs Graham and Miss Taylor.

We had a super time on our overnight residential to New Lanark last week! Lots of fun was had and many memories were made.

WOW! Our fantastic year 3/4 football team were the winners of the small schools football tournament last week! They played brilliantly in all 4 matches and demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout.This was rewarded with a well deserved trophy! Congratulations!!!

We have been learning about Alexander Graham Bell who invented the telephone. As a class, we created a timeline of his life.

Today we looked at the work of Thomas Edison. We acted out different scenarios involving his inventions.

We thoroughly enjoyed creating a Victorian silhouette of our own face!

The investigation begins!

Who's been in school??? When we returned to school after the snow days, we discovered some artefacts had been left in the hall! We spent a lot of time looking at them and discovering which era they were from.

Our topic in science is forces and magnets. Today we have been investigating the amount of friction on different surfaces.

Rainforest shakers!

Our new topic is the rainforest. We have been learning about rainforest homes and created our own during art lessons.

Today we made a connection web during our PSHE lesson. We discussed how we are all the same, yet are also different.

Today we learnt how to sing Jingle Bells in our Spanish lesson!

We have been learning how to count to 20 in Spanish!

We have been learning about Roman mosaics during our topic lessons. We designed our own and really enjoyed creating them!

We have enjoyed designing and creating our own Roman shields!

Today we have been looking at the poem 'The Magic Box', by Kit Wright. As a class, we created our own version using lots of fantastic ideas!

During the Harvest Festival we performed 'The Vegetable Rap'.

This week we set up our own science experiment to discover the effects of different drinks on the enamel on our teeth. We used a hard boiled egg to represent the enamel, and placed it in a drink, then left it for a week. We observed what happened and couldn't believe the changes!

This half term, our topic in science is animals including humans. Today we had lots of fun learning the names of different teeth and what they do!

This year we are taking part in the daily mile challenge. We have lots of fun walking, jogging and running, and always try our best!
